As you depart the beautiful Port of Portals and head west on your journey you will pass many callas and bays, here are but a few that will delight you. You will not be able to visit all of them in one day so it’s nice to know if you do it again it will be a completely different experience.

PUNTA NEGRA BAY

is an amazing rock face bay surrounded by pine trees and beautiful greenery, in the summer time there is a floating pontoon connected to the small beach with lovely rockeries.   This is a nice place to get off and have a nice walk.

Palma Nova Beach

you can moor either side of the beach and have access by tender into the small Marina or the beach where you will find some fantastic restaurants stunning white sandy beaches and you can even hire Jet Skis from the small Marina.

Sa Porrassa (Magaluf)

it’s best to stay to the west of this beach where it is a lot more secluded, you’re also see the caves in the cliff wall.   The island just off Magaluf beach is actually a protected nature reserve and has an array of Wildlife.  You will also find Nikki Beach here where you will rub shoulders with the rich and famous.   They have one of the best theme parties on the Island, Sun beds, Cabanas, Private Lounges, great food and of course the international acclaimed DJs from around the World.  Also on this beach there is Zeros Beach Lounge again they have Cabanas, Sun beds food and drink and great music.   If the kids want some fun there is also the Wave House where they can surf away

Cap Falco Beach

is a charming cove known for its fine sand beachfront, tranquil waters and low key dining with its chill out music.  A nice place to relax

Portals Vells

this is a very popular bay and best to get their early as it gets very busy, a favourite for many.   There are 3 small inlet beaches well protected and surrounded by pine forest and two restaurants Platja del Mago on one inlet and Es Repos on the other.  Both offering fantastic fish of the day.   There is also a very small port mainly for residents of the properties above.   This is pure heaven.

El Toro

has a beautiful sandy beach which is accessed from Port Adriano entrance.  There you can hire Jet Skis, Seabobs and Padel Boards.   One of the best Paellas is the restaurant which has not changed in over 35 years (we call it the Tin Shack) real name is Player El Toro on the side of the entrance of the marina to the left from the sea.   Well worth a visit for the food.

Port Adriano Marina

was originally built in 1974 and redesigned by Philippe Starck in 2007.   The Marina was also extended to accommodate the Super Yachts of today.  Two of the restaurants have swimming pools.  To the left of the Marina there is a very small bay where you can drop anchor and have a lovely swim in the crystal clear waters.  It’s very quiet and peaceful.

Malgrats Island

this is a beautiful spot to anchor for snorkelling, very quiet with its crystal clear waters, only on a Sunday does this bay get busy with the locals.

Santa Ponsa Bay

this is a must for anchoring, although very busy in the height of the summer during the out of season months it’s very tranquil.  You have an array of shots and restaurants lining both sides of the bay with an extensive white sandy beach in the middle.

Santa Ponsa Marina

the Marina is smaller than the other Marinas but has Jet Ski hire, Scuba Diving and many more activities,   it also has three lovely restaurants.

Costa de la Calma/Paguera

this is a lovely area to anchor, you will have to use your tender to go ashore to the restaurants on the beach.

Calla Fornells

this is just up from Costa de la Calma and straight over from Santa Ponsa Marina.   It’s a beautiful place if you want to have peace and quiet and is great for snorkelling.  With your tender come out of the bay and around the corner hugging the coast you will find a beautiful very secluded small inlet with pebble beach which is a must as you can only get there with your tender.

Gran Follies

the restaurant Gran Follies is one of the most popular on day charters, its placed right on the water’s edge, you can watch your boat from the restaurant,  it also has a pool.   They only have two sittings a day for lunch being 1pm and 3pm.

Andratx

the bay is beautiful and the scenery is amazing.   On the East side you have some fantastic restaurants that over look the water and on the West you have the port and the Yacht Club, There are many shops to enjoy in Andratx as well.

Calla en Fonol

on the outside of Andratx bay coming out keep going west,  there is a small anchorage with crystal clean waters and well protected from north or westerly winds, this bay is very tranquil and harmonious if you get there early you be the only boat,  but by midday other boats will join you.

Sant Elmo/Dragonera

the bay is very protected and has mooring buoys already in place for you (there is a cost and can be done via the web) Es Roar restaurant is one of the best and they come to the boat and pick you up so no messing around with your tender.  There is also a small beach and shops if the kids don’t want to come for lunch.
